ワードプレスの存在については、今回の授業で初めて知り実際に使ってみたこともなかった。調べてみると、Webサイトの30％程度は、ワードプレスを使って出来ているというものであった。

その事実であれば、どれだけ使いやすいのか実際に使ってみたところ、メリットは、サイトのデザインもいくつかのテーマがあらかじめワードプレスの中にあって、LINEの着せ替えの感覚で気軽にレイアウトを変えることが出来ることや、投稿もツイッターのような感覚で簡単にできるような手軽さがある。他にも、統計にはサイトに訪問した人数などが表示されていて、こういうところからアクセス数を見ることが出来たり、さらには収益化することも出来たりとブロガーもしくはアフィリエイターなどがどういうものを使っているかの一端を見ることができるなどたくさんメリットがある。

　しかし、デメリットとして、やはりワードプレス内にあるテーマを使うと他のサイトと似てきてしまうため、自身でワードプレスの編集をしたり、すぐ技術を習得しなければならないのは初心者からでは大変である点がある。他にも、ネット上に流した情報を完全に削除することはほぼ不可能であるので、簡単に投稿できるからこそ自分や他人の個人情報や、自分が使う言葉などに気を付けなければ、余計な諍い、炎上、そして自身の個人情報が晒されるなどといったことの原因になってしまう可能性があるため、いざ利用するときはそういう点に気を付けて利用していかなければならないという点などもある。【626文字】

• Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
• If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
